TRUMP Makes TOP 10 List of....GLOBAL THREATS?

Donald Trump is top of the list in the Republican presidential race. And, he’s now made his way to the top of another list….A Donald Trump presidency ranks 6th in The Economist’s list of top 10 risks to the global economy.

Somewhere in between a hard landing in China and a cold war with Russia, the Donald has managed to make the cut…as a threat to the global economy, Robert Powell of the Economist Intelligence Unit told Fox Business on Monday.

“The identity of the U.S. president – the most powerful man in the world –has a spillover effect on the rest of the world,” he said. “If you have gentlemen such as himself talking about trade wars, talking about building a wall with Mexico, down on NAFTA…that will have a spillover effect.”

With Trump being the frontrunner in the Republican race, sweeping the nation state by state in the primaries, he has now become a real contender for president.

“The chance of Trump becoming president are quite high after all he’s way ahead in the repuiblican primary so we have to take this quite seriously,” Powell said.

What about his stance on tax cuts? Shouldn’t that help boost the economy?

According to Powell, not really because the numbers just don’t add up.

“Anybody who is hostile towards China, who wants to brand it a currency manipulator, is a threat in our opinion,” he said, noting Trump’s comments during debates on the world’s second largest economy.

Who will the economist endorse then if not Trump?

“I can’t give the opinion of the Economist magazine, and who it will back this time, but I have some suspicions it won’t be Donald Trump,” Powell told Fox.
