NPR Just Tweeted the Declaration of Independence and People Lost Their Mind

(ANTIMEDIA)  - In the early morning hours of July 4th, 2017, NPR’s Morning Edition aired its 29th annual reading of the Declaration of Independence by hosts, reporters, newscasters, and commentators. The tradition commemorates the day “Church bells rang out over Philadelphia as the Continental Congress adopted this draft of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.”

NPR then continued its observation of the holiday on Twitter by posting the full the text of the nation’s founding document in a series of over 100 tweets. The response they received is nothing short of astounding, demonstrating many Americans had literally no idea what they were celebrating.
