The Swiss newspaper La Liberté is reporting that imprisoned Saudi blogger Raif Badawi could have his sentence of 1,000 lashes suspended. Amnesty International has yet to confirm the news. A royal pardon is required.

Badawi was arrested in June of 2012 for writings on his website which criticized Saudi Arabian clerics. He received a sentence of 10 years in prison and 1,000 lashes.
