- Faking racist tendencies for neighborhood acceptance and being a closet liberal in high school
- Moving to New York and becoming a full blown social liberal for practical and intellectual reasons
- Witnessing the ugliness and coming out of the closet to denounce what the Right was doing post 9/11 despite being there
- Dogmatically liberal and on the verge of PC- ness
- Surprised but not shocked at the Dem reaction to losing the election
