Trump Calls for Special Prosecutor on Clinton Foundation

Comment

This election is a proxy for sound money we think. And while we still think Trump will  try to spend like a drunken sailor,  his economic advisors will be watching Gold closely as an indicator of the economy, just as Greenspan did. How can you not like a man who is so obviously transparent when compared to a person who's ambition forces her to obfuscate and manipulate the truth at ALL cost? Hillary's chances of winning are increasingly digital on what  surprise happens next. And while the Email/ Benghazi/Calendar/ Foundation issues are no longer a surprise, someone actually doing something about them will be. So the polls are less meaningful because of the increased volatility in the election marketplace. And remember, if Trump wins, there will be a partial push for some sort of Gold standard. Most likely in the form of Convertible bonds as Greenspan himself suggested. Trump Economic Advisor Dr. Judy Shelton favors a return to the  Gold Standard. Just keep that in mind when news like the following comes out. The election is about the economy, and the economy is increasingly dependent on unsound money to stay afloat. This election is about financial engineering and vapor vs, the potential to make America Work Again.

Background

Yesterday we posted  an editorial from the Wall Street Journal regarding Bill Clinton's announcement that the Clinton Foundation would scale back much of its operations. This was a tacit admission by Billary that their Foundation was not misnamed. It was created by the Clintons and is used for the Clintons. We assumed advisors to Hillary saw it as a potential Achilles heel all along. But now that she has seemingly taken a sizable lead in the polls and much of the Foundation's work had been done, it was safe to hedge their position and hope the news cycle would turn over and all would be forgotten. This was not to be as Donald Trump made sure in a speech at an Austin Texas rally last night.- Soren K.

Trump on Fire

"It is now clear that the Clinton Foundation is the most corrupt enterprise in political history," Trump said in a statement, reiterating a claim he made earlier in the week. "We've now learned that a majority of the non-government people she met with as secretary of state gave money to the corrupt Clinton Foundation. ... It was wrong then, and it is wrong now -- and the foundation must be shut down immediately."

Trump the new Comeback Kid... Billary weeps?

"Clintons Really Think They Can Get Away with Anything"

From yesterday's Wall Street Journal Op-Ed

After years of claiming that the Clinton Foundation poses no ethical conflicts for Bill and Hillary or the U.S. government, Bill Clinton now admits the truth—sort of.

The Man behind the Woman.. The  "Charitable" Foundation behind them both

If his wife becomes President, he says the Super PAC masquerading as a charity won’t accept foreign or corporate contributions. Bill will also resign from the foundation board, and Chelsea will stop raising money for it.

Now they tell us.

If such fund-raising poses a problem when she’s President, why didn’t it when she was Secretary of State or while she is running for President? The answer is that it did and does, and they know it, but the foundation was too important to their political futures to give it up until the dynastic couple were headed back to the Oval Office. Now that Hillary is running ahead of Donald Trump, Bill can graciously accept new restrictions on their pay-to-play politics.

Bill must be having a good laugh over this one. The foundation served for years as a conduit for corporate and foreign cash to burnish the Clinton image, pay for their travel expenses for speeches and foreign trips, and employ their coterie in between campaigns or government gigs. Donors could give as much as they wanted because the foundation is a “charity.”

President Obama may have banished Sidney Blumenthal from the State Department, but Bill could stash his conspiratorial pal at the foundation, keeping him on the family payroll while Sid flooded Hillary with foreign-policy advice. Her private email server was supposed to hide their email traffic—until that gambit was exposed last year. But FBI Director James Comey let Hillary off the hook on the emails, and he declined to investigate the foundation, so it looks like they’re home free.

By now the corporate and foreign cash has already been delivered, in anticipation that Hillary Clinton could become the next President. So now it’s the better part of political prudence to claim the ethical high ground.

And it concludes with: Far from offering some new clean ethical slate, this latest foundation gambit ought to be a warning about a third Clinton term. Protected by Democrats and a press corps desperate to beat Donald Trump, the Clintons really do think they can get away with anything.

More Disclosures Coming

As CNN reported, Trump and the GOP will not let this go, and rightfully so. This is far from over

"It is impossible to figure out where the Clinton Foundation ends and the State Department begins," he said, adding, "The specific crimes committed to carry out that enterprise are too numerous to cover in this speech."

"The fact Hillary Clinton's official schedule was full of meetings with Clinton Foundation donors is further evidence of the pay-to-play politics at her State Department. No one is above the law," Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Trump's running mate, said in a statement.
The Republican National Committee also cited the report to hit Clinton.
"This is among the strongest and most unmistakable pieces of evidence of what we've long suspected: at Hillary Clinton's State Department, access to the most sensitive policy makers in U.S. diplomacy was for sale to the highest bidder," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.
Clinton Counters
A Clinton spokesman, however, said the AP's report relies on "utterly flawed data" and "cherry-picked a limited subset of Secretary's Clinton's schedule to give a distorted portrayal of how often she crossed paths with individuals connected to charitable donations to the Clinton Foundation." (Cherry picked implies that a 1000 rights absolve her from 20 wrongs?- SK)
No Material Evidence has been found of quid pro quo, and it never will be.
CNN Concludes : Clinton critics have not proven that Clinton or the State Department materially granted any favors to possible donors, but the report and other emerging information is reigniting the firestorm over the foundation. Trump's campaign and Republicans have sought to cast suspicion over Clinton's tenure as secretary of state and argued that foreign donors' contributions to the foundation created inevitable conflict-of-interest questions.

The Clinton Defense Answer Key

For our part, it is increasingly transparent the tactics the Clintons use to defend themselves are based on logical fallacy, straw man rebuttals, and classic lawyer tactics such as Argue the facts if you are breaking the law, argue the law if the facts are against you, and pound your fist on the table if neither are."
A simple example is when questioned on her health, Hillary in typical fashion shrugs it off and constructs a straw man. She states on TV, "Take my pulse, am i alive?" with a laugh. But no one is saying she's dead. People are concerned about if she is hitting on all cylinders from a physical perspective. That is classic Strawman defense. Exaggerate the concern to make it sound absurd, then rebut the absurdity. Ignore thje issue, build one up that you can knock down and get to knocking it down.
We see what you did there Hillary. Let the table pounding begin.
