It is official; presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump will tap Indiana Governor Mike Pence to be his running mate.
Despite postponing the official press conference because of yesterday's terrorist attacks in Nice France, Trump made the announcement on twitter.
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

Today’s decision has been plagued with confusion as media reported the appointment Thursday, quoting unnamed officials of the national Republican Party; however doubts remained as the Trump campaign refused to confirm the rumors.
According to analyst on Bloomberg, despite wanting to postpone the announcement, Trump might have been forced to name Pence because of a filing deadline in Indiana.
It was reported on Thursday that in anticipation of being named the Republican vice-presidential candidate, Pence dropped his reelection campaign. However the deadline to file as an official candidate for the governor of Indiana is noon Friday.
One Bloomberg analyst explained that if Pence was not picked as Trump’s running mate then he could “effectively be out of a job,” and it would have been the “biggest political humiliation in history.”
Pence also jumped on twitter to thank Trump for brinning him on board.
Honored to join @realDonaldTrump and work to make America great again. https://t.co/J8esm9LU6g
