Clinton Emails Include Letters from Bono

Apparently when Bono needs to find what he’s looking for, he turns to Hillary Clinton.

The Hillary Clinton emails show that on May 27, 2009, a person working for the Irish rock star Bono emailed a request for help under the heading "Bono/NASA." The singer wanted to do a linkup with the International Space Station during his concert tour.

Bill Clinton's former key aide Doug Band emailed back: "No clue." But U2 got what they wanted and in a live set in Barcelona, Spain --  Bono, the Irish band’s front man held a live chat with the commander of the space station on a giant video screen.

Other emails to Hillary include a sports executive who was a major donor to the Clinton Foundation and whose firm paid Bill Clinton millions of dollars in consulting fees -- wanting help getting a visa for a British soccer player with a criminal past.

Another email to Clinton shows the crown prince of Bahrain, whose government gave more than $50,000 to the Clintons’ charity-   wanting a last-minute meeting with her.

This week, it was announced that close to 15,000 emails recovered by the FBI from the private server used by Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of state are set to be made public just before the presidential election in November.

The emails reveal requests which were usually directed to Clinton’s deputy chief of staff , Huma Abedin, who engaged with other top aides and sometimes Clinton herself about how to respond. Not all requests to donors were granted.

But the emails do  llustrate the way the Clintons’ international network of friends and donors was able to get access to Hillary Clinton and her inner circle during her tenure running the State Department.

Republicans allege that Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, used her time in the Obama administration to trade favors for donations.
